Welcome to Lake Panorama.org
The long winter and extremely wet conditions have caused lots of soft spots in Lake streets. These will be repaired as time and weather permit. Approximately eight miles of seal coat will be applied later this year.
The Spikes building at the LPN is being enclosed and soon siding and roofing will be installed. The new irrigation system lines, controls and irrigation heads are also being installed on the course.
The Panorama West Par 3 course is now open to the public. Rates for non-members will mirror non member rates at the LPN and be about 20% higher per pass. Public golfing will be prohibited during league and member events.
The water mains will be flushed the week of May 26 to 29 (the days after Memorial Day. Members can expect the potential for sediments in the water during that time and should plan accordingly. Work on the water quality situation continues with several unexpected issues being dealt with.
Annual Meeting Notes:
Ron Morden and Kane Powell were elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors at the LPA annual meeting on May 10. The members also overwhelmingly approved a change in the by-laws regarding unfilled board terms and two rule additions which would allow for removal of vicious animals and removal of registered sex offenders from the LPA.
A presentation with a question and answer period was held by the engineer that is assisting the LPA in dealing with poor drinking water quality while the LPA seeks solutions to the high manganese and high iron content of LPA drinking water. It was re-emphasized that the water is bacteria safe, but is sometimes failing to meet secondary standards of taste and appearance.
Work continues on this important issue. It was emphasized that this problem is not something that can be taken care of quickly. Further testing and further considerations of possible solutions to short and long-term water issues is being done.
Have a safe spring.
