The Lake Panorama Maintenance Department oversees the care of the streets, roadways, grounds, beaches, buildings and equipment owned by the Association.
Streets
Over 43 miles of streets wind their way around the 6000 acre development. About 35 miles of those are chip-seal coated for all weather travel. The maintenance department plows snow, repairs potholes, mows roadsides, fixes culverts, rocks and grades crushed rock streets, and rebuilds short sections of streets. The department is also responsible for some repair of the chip-seal road surfacing, which includes spreading special asphalt oil and covering it with pea rock for dust control and smooth surfacing.
Grounds
Several areas of community property are managed for uses such as picnicking, wildlife watching, and open spaces. Some areas along Lake Panorama streets are managed by the department for general attractiveness at the main entrances to the development.
Beaches
Three beaches grace the shoreline of Lake Panorama. Boulder Beach, the largest, is on the east side of the lake. A large sandy beach, marked swimming area, two picnic shelter houses, a restroom, and children's play area are featured. A volleyball area is found on the upper level of the beach. Picnic tables and grills are also available. Docks are available for boaters to stop at the beach.
Shady Beach is found on the southwest side of the lake. As it's name implies, the main part of this recreational area is well-shaded by mature trees. A shelter house and restroom are located here as well as a two-level sandy beach area for volleyball, sunbathing, and swimming. Picnic tables, grills, and playground equipment are found here also. Boat docks are available.
Sunset beach on the western shore of the lake also has a shelter house, picnic area, restrooms, play area, and a boat dock area.
The maintenance department is responsible for the mowing, trimming, clean-up, and painting of the facilities at the three beaches.
Buildings
The maintenance department oversees the outward care of all the buildings owned and used by the LPA.
Equipment
Dump trucks, a crawler loader, backhoe loaders, tractors, mowers, snowplows, various pickup trucks, lots of small equipment, road repair equipment, and even the "Enterprize" the LPA's debris control boat are part of the equipment line operated and maintained by the maintenance division. Routine maintenance and repairs are done on site and at the maintenance facility found on 200th Road.
Members are cautioned that after storm events in the summer, there may be floating debris in the lake, which would be hazardous to boaters and skiers. The debris boat "Enterprize" will be actively patrolling the lake surface, especially from Boulder Beach upstream. Please boat with caution at these times and give the "Enterprize" room to operate and remove floating debris.
Winter Road Conditions
The maintenance department takes pride in getting the streets cleared after winter storm events. Always drive with caution. Due to the nature of our roadways, driving is more of an adventure than being on flat land. Watch for plows and sanders operating on the roadways.
