Dick Burroughs, Board Member, passes
Dick Burroughs, serving his first term as an LPA Board member, passed away from cancer on December 2. Dick had been active in the LPA community, was an avid golfer, and had served on the Vision 2012 planning committee. Our condolences to Denise and his family at this tragic loss.
Lowe Resigns
Delbert “Red” Lowe, General Manager, submitted his immediate resignation on November 16. Members will be appraised of the situation by mail. Board President Paul Buchanan is acting manager along with the assistance of senior staff.
Informational Meeting Set
An informational meeting will be held January 22, 2005 at the LPN conference center. A membership mailing will present background information relating to a proposed dues and assessments increase for future years. The annual meeting has been set for April 23, 2005.
RIZ lets bid for 20 years of silt storage
The Lake Panorama Rural Improvement Zone (RIZ) has let the contract for the “County Basin” project, a large silt storage structure that should provide for 20 years of dredging in the upper end of Lake Panorama. The structure will be located where the county road 190th Street runs just west of Nester Point on the extreme western end of the development south of the river. The cost is $2.86 million and will be paid for by RIZ revenues.
Conference Center to come under LPA ownership
The Conference Center will become LPA property as of January 1. A limited liability corporation (LLC) has been formed that will lease and operate the center and the golf course. John Dinnebier remains as general manager for the LPN. Water Levels Head Back Up
The repairs to the dam are completed and water levels have come up over half way from the lowest levels.
Holiday office hours
The LPA offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's holidays on December 24 and December 31.
